President Ian and Pam kindly held a barbecue for us at Tonge Towers, of course it rained, but never the less a terrific social afternoon was had by us all. The Irish coffees were terrific Pam, thanks very much! |
A successful day at our 21st annual golf tournament.
During what was a poor week weather wise we were delighted to find that Friday 24th June was bright and sunny offering the prospect of a good days golf at Hirst Priory, Crowle for the Isle of Axholme Lions 21st Annual Charity Golf Day. It also provided a break from all the goings on with the European election results. The players were delighted not only at the weather but the superb playing conditions at Hirst Priory and congratulations must go to Alan York and his team for their hard work in achieving that. Once again the Lions are grateful to all our sponsors who year after year support us to enable us to put on this event. We were delighted to see that over 40 players entered the competition and we were able to make a considerable boost to our charity funds from which we disperse help near and far to needy causes. |
At our April meeting we made an £800 to L.I.V.E.S First Responders, South Axholme Group, for essential equipment.

Our February meeting was a busy one for visitors.
Also visiting were Thorne Rural Lions, the centre picture show Isle Lions President Richard receiving one of our Santa's Float collecting boxes back, which the Thorne Lions "liberated" from our float two years ago.
